Neoprene Gasket Material

Content levels of neoprene can vary widely.  Application problems may occur when using blended or commercial grades of neoprene sheet of unknown quality levels in contact with oil, solvents and fuels.  In general, neoprene material resists ozone, sunlight, oxidation and many petroleum derivatives.  It provides a good resistance to weather, combustion, water and many chemicals.

Neoprene Material Grades

Cloth Inserted Neoprene is reinforced with 1 or 2 plies of nylon for added stability and creep reduction.

Diaphragm Neoprene is strengthened with insertions of polyester for high pressure applications involving a variety of oils and petroleum media

Food Grade (FDA approved) Neoprene conforms to federal regulation code 21 CFR 177.2600 for rubber articles intended for repeated use in the production, manufacturing, packing and processing of food articles.

Flame Retardant Neoprene passes flammability specifications: UL-94-HF-1, UL-94-HFB, MIL-R-6130C, FMVSS-302
