Polyurethane Gasket Sheet & Rolls
Polyurethane gasket sheet is good for a wide range of sealing applications. High strength, coupled with resilience and broad chemical resistance make it a popular choice among gasket users and installers. Other uses include cushioning in chutes and slides and for belt scrapers and cutting surfaces.
Polyurethane Gasket Sheet & Roll Material Specifications:
Color: wide range
Thickness: 0.010” to 2”
Width: 48” rolls, sheets cut to your specifications
Temperature Range: -25° to +250°F
Durometer: Shore OO up to Shore D
Mechanically, polyurethane tensile strength exceeds 4,000 psi, which is far higher than most elastomeric materials. Elongation is over 500%, again better than most other gasket materials. Compression set resistance is very good, meaning polyurethane has a long life in sealing applications, and it’s also very abrasion and tear-resistant.
Polyurethane gasket sheet has a working temperature range of -25 to +250 °F although some grades will remain flexible at lower temperatures. As for durometer, polyurethane is available in values from the Shore OO scales up to Shore D. Most gasket applications require a hardness between 60 and 90 Shore A.
Chemically, polyurethane resists water, although not steam, and works well with oils, fats, hydraulic fluids and many solvents. It’s also UV-resistant, which makes it a good choice for outdoor applications where it will be exposed to sunlight. However, it fares poorly against alcohol and ketones like acetone.
Polyurethane sheet is available in a range of colors and in thicknesses from 0.010” to 2”. Standard tolerance on thickness is +/-0.045” but tight tolerance material is available. Sheets and rolls of polyurethane gasket material measure 48” wide but Hennig Gasket & Seals can cut this down to whatever size is needed.
